COVID19 SCHOOL CLOSURE

With the closure of our school due to the Covid19 virus pandemic our teachers have put home learning activities onto their sites.

For our senior students it is 'business as usual' in terms of where you can reach your learning via your class site.

For our junior students teachers have put together a doc onto their class site for you, your parents and whanau to find some apps, ideas and activities - this is the link. If you have any concerns or questions please contact me or the class teacher.

Please check Important Notices for the latest information about Term Two even though school remains closed.

We wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you all again in the near future.

There are five teaching environments in 2020. We have four open learning environments with multiple teachers and year levels. Our New Entrants are in a stand-alone classroom to allow them to settle into school life. These open environments were trialled in 2017 and resulted in overwhelming positive comments from all stakeholders and success in accelerating academic progress. As a result of exploring research around quality teaching and visible learning teachers at Paihia School are often referred to as Change Agents (CA’s). Learn, create, share pedagogy and student agency are important to us. Learning together is empowering. The school has a SENCO, Nikki Simmonds, to plan, support and co-ordinate children with special education needs. All learning environments have at least one full-time teacher aide to further support student learning and wellbeing.
