Paihia School Board will continue to give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
To the whānau and community of Paihia School,
The Paihia School Board continues to be deeply committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi. The recent amendments made to the Education and Training Act has changed nothing for us. As a governing body, we recognise Te Tiriti as the foundational document of Aotearoa New Zealand. We understand that this commitment requires ongoing action, learning, and meaningful partnership - whanaungatanga and manaakitanga.
Our commitment guides how we as your Board govern, make decisions, build relationships, and it will continue to underpin our school’s strategic plan. We are dedicated to ensuring that our policies, practices, and school culture honour the integrity of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. This commitment is central to providing a high-quality education that prepares all our students to be informed, respectful, and culturally responsive.
Our practice has always been to listen to and consult our ākonga, kaiako, tumuaki, and whānau. We are here to represent our school community and know that Te Tiriti is central to our whole school community. We look forward to continuing this vital work together.
