Library

The Paihia School Library Is named after our caretaker Terry Halliday and is run by Shirley Kingi our librarian.

The library is open everyday and is only available to Paihia schools students, it is a place where children all ages come to enjoy a quiet but not silent time. There are about 7000 books in our library and there are 9 different sections. These are Fiction, Non Fiction, Maori Legends, Senior Section Picture Books, Senior Section Fiction, Reference Books, Encyclopedias, New Books and Big Books (for Younger Readers).

Here are some pictures of our library.

This is the Maori section in our library.

We have a great selection of Maori books.

From Maori dictionaries to Maori legends.

We love our Maori books!

This is our fictional section

This is where we keep our chapter and picture books.

We enjoy a little fantasy from time to time!

This is the non-fiction area

Also known as the computer area where we type in a book name and the computer will point us in the right direction.

We learn a lot from our Non- Fiction area!

These are both our two main sections,

Fiction and Non -Fiction.
What a Fab library!!!
Don't you reckon?

Thanks Paihia School!
