Brigit Sharp – Teacher Aid

Hi Everybody!

First and foremost, thank you for allowing me to support your children with their learning.

My background has been in hospitality and in this diverse and broad industry, I have worked in various roles from Front Office to Restaurant service.  I was fortunate to be able to work alongside my family with our restaurant Nine in Paihia a few years ago.  The hours I worked, were well suited to raising my two children, Serradan and Brodi.  Serradan started at Paihia school in 1996 and Brodi in 2011.

I started here as a Teacher Aide in June 2015. To be able to guide/support our tamariki with their learning is a privilege.  To see a child grasp a new concept or understand what sound a letter makes from the alphabet is beyond joy!  I witness ‘light bulb’ moments everyday.

I am surrounded with a wealth of knowledge and aroha amongst all my peers.

Shirley – Librarian & Teacher Aid

Hello, my name is Shirley and I am the librarian at Paihia School and teach all of the children library skills. I also work in the classrooms supporting the student’s learning in a variety of ways.

I have been involved with this school for a very long time as even before I began work here many years ago, my, now grown up children attended this school.

I love our school, our children and our community very much.

My favorite things are children, books, outdoor activities and learning new things.

I like to see everyone feeling safe, comfortable and happy in their environment and will do whatever it takes to help make this happen!
